why I copyright my images

I think my work is any better than anyone else's (it's not), yet I still stamp my name on all my images with a (c) logo. Why? Surprisingly many peole (or most) think that images that are online are free to download and use however they like (they're not). If a 6th grader wants to use my picture for his school project, I would have no objections, but I would want him to ask me first. If a bootlegger want to rip my image off the web, they would probably have no problem removing the copyright, but since I presented my image as copyrighted, they would not have a good case at all.

Images online are not free unless they are donated to public domain.

Whether it's MUSIC, ART, PHOTOGRAPHY, or IDEA (this ones a little harder..) protect your intellectual property.
